CapableTalent ("we", "us", or "our") operates capabletalent.com (the "Platform"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Platform you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you register we collect your full name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash).
Profile information. Skills, work history, CV/resume files, and any other details you choose to add to your candidate profile.
Application data. Jobs you apply to, messages you send to employers, and the status of your applications.
Usage data. Pages visited, features used, timestamps, IP address, browser type, and referring URLs — collected automatically via server logs and cookies.
Google Sign-In. If you authenticate via Google we receive your Google account name and email address. We do not receive your Google password.
Communications. If you contact us by email or through the Platform, we retain those records.
How We Use Your Information
- Create and manage your account
- Match you with relevant job opportunities
- Share your profile and application with employers you apply to
- Send transactional emails (verification, application updates, password resets)
- Send job digest and newsletter emails (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Improve platform features and fix bugs using aggregated analytics
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
Sharing Your Information
Employers. When you apply for a job your profile and application materials are shared with that employer only.
Service providers. We use third-party services to operate the Platform — including cloud hosting, email delivery, image storage (Cloudinary), and analytics. These providers process data only on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
Business transfers. If CapableTalent is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal data. We never sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you logged in (authentication cookies)
- Remember your preferences
- Understand how the Platform is used (analytics)
You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling authentication cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g. resolving disputes, preventing fraud).
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your data — including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and restricted access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we are committed to protecting your information.
Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
